    Position Description: This position is a 245-day administrative position as GLASS Supervisor over the Developmental Preschool starting July 1, 2025. A job description is attached.     POSITION DESCRIPTION POSITON TITLE: GLASS Supervisor of Special Education/Developmental Preschool

    RESPONSIBLE TO: Director of GLASS

    CONTRACT LENGTH: 245-Day Administrative Position

    PRIMARY FUNCTION: GLASS Supervisors provide leadership for special services in Lafayette School Corporation, Tippecanoe School Corporation and West Lafayette Community School Corporation within assigned departments. They collaborate with GLASS Administrators, Local Special Education Directors, Superintendents, and Principals in the coordination of special education services. This position is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of early childhood special education programming within the Linnwood Developmental Preschool and serves as the lead administrator for the Linnwood facility.

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Shall include but are not limited to the following:
    • Support the districts in the implementation of the rules and regulations of Article 7 and IDEA
    • Participates in professional organizations and training programs to keep abreast of current legislation, litigation and information pertaining to special education
    • Participates in regularly scheduled meetings with the GLASS Governing Board
    • Assists in the supervision and evaluation of assigned GLASS programs and staff 
    • Recruits highly qualified and appropriately licensed staff
    • Provides GLASS program staffing recommendations to the GLASS Director
    • Determines programmatic needs including staff, materials, and equipment and makes recommendations to the GLASS Director of Special Education
    • Assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of professional development for staff as well as parent training
    • Participates in preschool IEP conferences
    • Monitors First Steps transitions
    • Oversee ISPROUT assessment
    • Assists with IDOE Monitoring and Compliance for IEPs and programs assigned to including indicators: LRE, disproportionality, and transition
    • Collaborate with local special education directors on ESY programming for departments supervised
    • Attends meetings and collaborates with local and state agencies, colleges, and universities
    • Other duties as assigned by the GLASS Director of Special Education

    POSTION SPECIFICATIONS:

    Education

    • Master's Degree in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Educational Leadership or a related field

    Skills and abilities

    • Knowledgeable of both state and federal laws governing special education services
    • Strong knowledge of early childhood development, special education laws and best practices
    • Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities
    • Proficient in data analysis in order to monitor student progress and program effectiveness
    • Possess strong communication, organization and leadership skills
    • Skilled at the guiding, directing and evaluating staff

    Experience

    • Minimum of five years of successful special education leadership or administrative experience

    Certification

    • Current Indiana Building Level Administrator License or Current Indiana Director of Special Education License required
    • Current Indiana Exceptional Needs (any Special Education) License required

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • This position is located at the Linnwood Development Preschool and occasionally travels to various school sites withing the Lafayette School Corporation, Tippecanoe School Corporation and West Lafayette Community School Corporation
    • This position requires occasional evening or weekend commitments for events or meetings
    • Linnwood is located in the heart of Lafayette, Indiana just one hour north of downtown Indianapolis and 2-hours south of downtown Chicago along Interstate 65 in west central Indiana
